Life is not just the practicality of things
—
Opens on March 14th, the exhibition “Life is not just the practicality of things”, curated by Juliana Cintra and Omar Salomão. The exhibition has as its starting point the word and the proposal is to create in the gallery a space for a great conversation between the works, as if all these voices are participating in a single narrative.
32 artists occupy the hall with photographs, drawings, cartoons, poetry, paintings and objects. The selection begins with famous names like Amilcar de Castro, Antonio Dias, Rubens Gershman and Leonilson and through to very young artists like Luiza Crosman and Jonas Arrabal.
According to Omar Salomão, one of the curators and also an artist, “In a time when the future floats over the mud and the horizon seems to disappear in a haze of ignorance, we try here to open, rather than close the senses, so the thought shines.”
Participating artists: Alexandre Vogler, Ana Carolina Fernandes, Amilcar de Castro, Ana Maria Tavares, Andre Dahmer, Antonio Manuel, Anna Costa e Silva, Antonio Dias, Arjan Martins, Arnaldo Antunes, Cabelo, Fernando de La Roque, Fernando Laszlo, Guga Ferraz, Gustavo Speridião, Jonas Arrabal, José Damasceno, Laercio Redondo, Laura Belém, Leonilson, Luciano Figueiredo, Luiz Ernesto, Luiza Crosman, Mariana Manhães, Omar Salomão, Pedro Rocha, Rodrigo Linares, Rodrigo Matheus, Rubens Gerchman, Waly Salomão, Vanderlei Lopes, Yhuri Cruz.
