Flutuações
Isidora Gajic
—
Silvia Cintra + Box 4 gallery opens on January 16th, its first solo show by young Serbian photographer Isidora Gajic. “Floating” brings together the latest images from the artist’s production, and most of them were in the book Ecume, published in Paris by L´editeur du Dimanche.
The starting point for the selection of the art works was the composition by Claude Debussy – La Mer: Sirenes. An ocean underworld blends in with images of the night creating a new dream universe among sea foam, salt flats, stars, water and sea animals.
The polyptics and diptychs create a visual connection between all the moving elements that surround our everyday lives. The flow of the tides, breath and heartbeat can be felt through these images.
Isidora does not use photography in a static way, recording a specific moment. Her work treats photography as a fluid language, which through connections and compositions, creates a pulsating narrative.
A residente in Brazil for the past 8 years, the Serbian artist is currently showing “Habaneras – Dialogues” with Miguel Rio Branco at SESC Quitandinha in Petrópolis.
