Andrea Rocco lives and works in São Paulo. She studied painting and drawing at Parsons School (New York City), holds a bachelor degree in Fashion Design from Faculdade Santa Marcelina and a BFA in Arts Education from FAAP, from where she also holds a graduate degree in Art History.
The artist has participated in several group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, such as “Brazilian Modern: Icons and Innovation”, in Brussels (2012), and “Arte pela Amazônia”, at the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo (2008). She has presented solo shows at Galeria Thomas Cohn (2008 and 2010) and Laura Marsiaj (2013). She has been awarded the Acquisition Prize of the Itamaraty Contest for Contemporary Art (2013), received the first prize at the FAAP’s Annual Exhibition (2003) and an honorable mention in the edition of 2006 of the same event.
