SILVIA CINTRA + BOX 4 PRESENTS “CONSTELLATIONS”, ANDREA ROCCO’S NEW SOLO EXHIBITION

On June 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Galeria Silvia Cintra + Box 4 opens Constellations (Constelações), Andrea Rocco’s new solo exhibition. Featuring around 43 new works, including paintings, watercolors, and ceramic sculptures, the show presents a collection that traverses different times, geographies, and visual traditions to forge a sensitive atmosphere, in which distant images begin to orbit one another like constellations.

In Constellations, Andrea Rocco brings together references stemming from archaeology, art history, material culture, and the observation of everyday life. Hybrid creatures, botanical elements, ornamental patterns, fragments of historical images, and color codes coexist in compositions that reject hierarchies between the erudite and the popular, the ancient and the contemporary, document and imagination.
The exhibition brings together three complementary sets of works. The watercolors reveal the experimental and procedural nature of the artist’s research; the paintings expand this vocabulary in larger-scale compositions; and the ceramic sculptures incorporate an object dimension to the show, bringing image and matter closer together.

One of the central aspects of the exhibition is the interest in cataloging and classification mechanisms. Titles incorporating chromatic nomenclatures and Pantone codes coexist with images that escape any stable system of organization. Between inventory and fabulation, Andrea Rocco builds a visual field where cultural memory, imagination, and the gaze meet.

Andrea Rocco develops a body of work that articulates painting, watercolor, and ceramics, bringing together references from art history, archaeology, and visual culture. She studied painting and drawing at the Parsons School of Design in New York, and holds a degree from Faculdade Santa Marcelina and FAAP, where she also completed a postgraduate degree in Art History.
